Aim of the Symposium

For disasters and on-going irregular urbanization are the facts of Turkey, regeneration of the cities is required. For the regeneration of livable modern cities in the long term, solutions should be produced and applied right now. However, todays’ solutions and applications should not be tomorrow’s problems. Therefore, there is a need for zoning implementations consistent with sustainable land management practices. Urban regeneration as a featured zoning implementation should be discussed and taken into account from land based „PROPERTY“ perspective firstly in order to develop the most suitable model and solution for Turkey. The land property as the main subject of urban regeneration is the most complex issue and having only with land registration, so it is the most fundamental right with respect to public and private law. Hence, urban regeneration needs to be discussed and evaluated in terms of the land property. For the formation of infrastructure of urban life in universal level, which will also accomplish a sustainable „Property Transformation“ with urban regeneration, it is aimed to perform the „1st International Symposium on Urban Regeneration” with the participations of the experts in the national and international level, specialists, representatives of public and private sector, civil society and so on. All the solutions related with urban regeneration and the land property that will be discussed and produced during the symposium will be shared with the public and relevant stakeholders in Turkey.
